Protopic 0.1% ointment (tacrolimus) 10g
Protopic 0.1% ointment (tacrolimus) is a prescription topical calcineurin inhibitor used to treat moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and adolescents aged 16 and older. It treats flares by suppressing overactive immune responses that cause inflammation. It is applied in a thin layer, usually twice daily, to affected areas.

Indications: Indicated for patients who do not respond well to or are intolerant of conventional therapies, such as topical corticosteroids.
Usage: For external use only. Apply a thin layer to affected skin. Do not cover the treated area with bandages.
Common Side Effects: The most common side effects are skin burning, itching, redness, and a warm feeling, which usually decrease as the skin heals.
Alcohol Interaction: Facial flushing or skin irritation can occur if alcohol is consumed while using this medication.
Safety Precautions: Avoid covering the skin with sunscreen or being in the sun/tanning beds for long periods, as the medication may increase skin sensitivity. Do not use if you are allergic to tacrolimus or macrolides.
Long-Term Use: Although safe for short-term and intermittent long-term use, it should not be used continuously for long periods.
